Jolin Tsai Teams Up With Kylie Minogue

It’s the collaboration of the year! An East meets West partnership, and a much unexpected twosome. According to reports, Taiwan pop diva JOLIN TSAI and English pop princess KYLIE MINOGUE have teamed up to record a duet. An Asian version of the song “In My Arms”. The track will appear in the Asian edition of Kylie’s new album, titled X, currently scheduled for a 26 November 2007 release.

So did the two songbirds hit it off? Well, it wasn’t exactly the battle of the divas in the recording studios. Kylie and Jolin actually recorded the song separately, with Jolin saying she “imagined” Kylie was next to her as she did her part. That’s not to say the two wouldn’t have gotten along. After all, they do share an awful lot in common: both are prop princesses who started their career at a very young age, both became divas through the popularity of their dance music, both are pint sized, very sexy and have their own dolls (the Agent J dolls and the Kylie dolls). And both are Monkeys according to the Chinese zodiac!

Jolin did get to meet her “goddess: when Kylie actually invited her to the screening of White Diamond in London. Jolin was said to be so excited she insisted on making an appearance, even though the promotional schedule for her album was really tight and she was exhausted. When the two song tresses met, Jolin presented Kylie with a jade bracelet as a present, while Kylie gave Jolin an exclusive ticket of the preview screening and a warm hug. A huge Kylie fan, Jolin has even performed Kylie’s song “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” at the Gold Song Awards in Taiwan, which we’re sure Kylie was flattered to find out about. Jolin also reportedly watches Kylie’s concert DVDs so she can learn from the Aussie superstar’s sexy and glamorous stage performances. We can’t hear to hear the duet!
