THE ACTRESS LANDS HERSELF IN (MORE) TROUBLE AFTER GETTING BOOKED ON A "DUI" CHARGEMere days after LINDSAY LOHAN was released from rehab, voluntarily wore an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet, and promised fans she would cut down on her wild partying; the actress has taken a headfirst dive into hot soup – again!
Hollywood watchers could hardly believe it when the news broke – the 21-years-old actress has been arrested for the second time this month on a charge of drink driving and suspected cocaine possession, after - believe it or not - chasing the mother of her newly-quit personal assistant in an eyebrow-raising car chase!
A police source said: “LINDSAY was trying to catch the mother of her personal assistant. Why she was trying to catch her, we don’t know. The mother was afraid. She wasn’t quite sure what was going on, so she called the police because she wanted to make sure everything would be OK.”
LINDSAY was arrested after she failed a sobriety test, which showed a blood-alcohol level reading of 0.12%, well above the 0.08% allowed under Californian law. She was booked on suspicion of drunken driving, possession of cocaine, bringing a controlled substance into custody (cocaine was found in her pocket when she was searched at the police station) and driving on a suspended license. A bail of $25,000 was posted before the actress was released.
Oh dear, what was LINDSAY thinking? Just when we thought the actress would actually go on the straight and narrow…
While LINDSAY’s publicist had no comment, her lawyer had more to say about the matter: “Addiction is a terribly and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to out patient car, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, our sources have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, one particular day we were informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care.”
Well, it would seem LINDSAY, who by the way has claimed that she is innocent. Needs a lot more than medical care at this time. The incident comes hot on the heels of rumors that boyfriend CALUM BEST had dump the starlet because she was boring when sober, and a formal booking on misdemeanor charges from a drunk-driving and hit-and-run incident in May this year. The actress had voluntarily turned herself after her exit from rehab.
After speculation that LINDSAY’s wild ways could lead to career free-fall, will this latest incident be the straw that will break her career camel’s back? We certainly hope not. After all, she is a pretty good actress…if she can only stay out of trouble.
