Ryan denies reconciliation rumours

The actor is not getting back together with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon

A mid reports that REESE WITHERSPOON has rekindled her short lived romance with JKE GYLLENHAAL, rumors have surfaced that Reese might be heading for a reconciliation with estranged ex-hubby RYAN PHILLIPPE after the two were spotted spending time together in Los Angeles.

According to a source, the couple “met for lunch this week at the Votre Sante health-food restaurant, a regular Brentwood haunt for Reese on San Vicenter”. “And they’re going on runs together around the Brentwood Country Club. Both are regular, dedicated runners. Running is a very healing, meditative thing, so maybe it will work its magic on them,” added the source.

The couple has also been seen shopping at Nike town in Beverly Hills, where Reese was fitted for – and bought – a pair of Nike Air Zoom Vomero shoes. Said a leak: “She took them for a demo on the treadmill on the second floor and loved them.”

All this bonding has led friends to wonder if perhaps the tow will reconcile for the sake of their kids. A friend said: “Reese and Ryan are trying to work it out. They are still close.”

But Ryan’s rep has been quick to kill the rumors. “It’s not true,” said Mr. Rep simply. Ryan, 32, and Reese, 31, called it quits on their marriage after six years and two kids together – AVA ELIZABETH and DEACON. They filed for divorce in October last year, amid rumors that he was cheating on her with Aussie starlet ABBIE CORNISH.

With Ryan safely out of the way, one would think the path is clear for Reese to pursue a love with Jake, 26. But reports have suggested otherwise. Apparently, Ryan is unhappy about the budding relationship, not because he doesn’t want Reese to be happy, but because he doesn’t want Jake hanging around his kids too much – afraid of being replace, Ryan?

A source told reporters: “Ryan is pissed about Jake. He didn’t want “that guy” around their kids and then made some crude Brokerback Mountain remark.”

But a pal of Reese’s has quickly denied that to be the case, saying the reason why Reese and Jake don’t spend 24/7 together is because the Oscar-winning actress doesn’t allow Jake to spend the night at her house when her children are around. Hey, at least she’s trying to set a good example.

Meanwhile keep an eye out of Ryan and Abbie, who had reportedly “been hanging out again since June.” The pair was spotted in Los Angeles’ Franklin Canyon Park in early August and an eyewitness is quoted as saying: “They were laughing and obviously enjoying themselves.”
